I enjoy celebrating Valentine’s Day. It’s a nice way to say you’re thinking about your family, someone special, or dear friends. ~Camila Alves
Perhaps romance is in the air on this Valentine’s Day. Perhaps it’s just family love or fun with friends. Perhaps this is just another day to you. Or an excuse to eat a little chocolate and bring a little spring into the house with some fresh flowers.
Romance is good. But sharing the fun of Valentine’s Day with friends and family is fun too. I like sending the grandkids cards on Valentine’s Day. One year I made homemade cards. I must have forgotten to buy any that year. I forgot to get all of you a card this year too, so here’s your “homemade” Valentine Card from me and the world of nature.
First we have a tree with a perfect heart carved by Mother Nature. All it needs are some carved initials and maybe a Cupid’s arrow. The ice flower isn’t quite as perfect a heart, but if you squint your eyes and use your imagination, you might see a heart.
After that we’re just going with red. Red is the color on Valentine’s Day, and nature gives us some beautiful red. Cardinals are always a bright touch of color in the wintertime. And then we have flowers. The beautiful red camellia makes a perfect Valentine flower. It even might be blooming now some places to the south. What a treat to see flowers blooming in the winter.
Then we have the rose. Roses are traditionally the flower most given on Valentine’s Day. Red roses especially. This little rose is not red and it’s not blooming on Valentine’s Day in my yard. Nothing is blooming in my yard. Not even dandelions, but that doesn’t mean we can’t remember the rose’s bloom with the fresh touch of dew on its petals.
Valentine’s Day can also be a day for poetry.
Roses are red. Violets are blue. Valentines are fun. That’s so true.
Okay, the rose is pink and as a poet I stink. (But I’m still rhyming. LOL)
Thanks for dropping by today and I do wish you a sweet Valentine’s Day. Hope you enjoyed my card to you.

Thanks for stopping by. Those roses will be blooming again before long the way the days slide by.
I love all the pictures…especially the frost flower! I’ve never seen one in person, so I enjoy the ones you share. Nature is beautiful.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Ann. Have a great day. I think we might actually have a bit of sunshine today. 🙂

So glad you enjoyed the Valentine post, Lavon. I haven’t seen as many frost flowers this year. I suppose it hasn’t been the right temperature for them. And we did have a smidgen of sunlight today. Always welcome in February.
Hope you had a great Valentine’s Day.
Thanks ANN. I love reading your writings. They always seem to make me smile. God bless! Have a wonderful blessed day!
