Cats & Dogs – Caption Game Picture 2

Those of you who stop by here at my blog place know that I’m a dog person. You could put “dog” up in the search area and no telling how many posts would pop up. Some would pop up for cats too, but not nearly as many. The cat ones would probably be about my cozy mystery stories that had cat characters because cozy mysteries have to have a cat or dog or some animal along for the story. My first Hidden Springs mystery, Murder at the Courthouse, had a cat named Two Bits. He was a barbershop cat. Somehow I connect Two Bits with a barber. My second Hidden Springs book, Murder Comes by Mail, featured Aunt Lindy’s cat, Grimalkin. Grimalkin was in all three mysteries, but had more of a starring role in the second one. Last book, Murder Is No Accident, featured a stray calico cat named Miss Marble. So, I probably had some posts mentioning them when my mysteries were published and I even shared some cat stories from readers.

It’s not that I don’t like cats. I do. But when we first moved to the house where we live now some 40 plus years ago, we didn’t have any outbuildings close to the house. My husband is not a cat lover and would not like a cat in the house. We’d always had barn cats. So we had our dogs. Most of those were farm dogs that lived outside until my husband gave me a cockerspaniel. Then he was an inside dog. Fast forward a few years and Oscar got run over and had to have an expensive surgery on his leg. I had to coax him inside. He never wanted to come in, but once he got used to the idea, he liked it. I’ve written several posts about that sweet dog. And now I have Frankie and Marley and they are definitely inside dogs although Frankie loves being outside as long as it isn’t thundering or too frigid. I’ve also written about my children’s and grandchildren’s dogs. Last but not least, I’ve written about the dogs that star in my books from Asher in The Innocent to Sarge in These Healing Hills. I have a dog name Maisy in my upcoming release, When the Meadow Blooms. I love writing animal charaters. They are always such fun.

So I’m going to let you exercise your imaginations in my Caption Game with a dog and cat picture.

I loved all the fun captions you suggested for the first picture. They were all great. Donna and Joan had me singing along with their suggetions, “Take Me Home Country Roads” and “On the Road Again.” I had to smile and remember the movie when Janice suggested “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” Vicki’s “Where to, Ethel?” made me smile. Some of you had them going for ice cream or to the movies. Some of you had them heading to grandma’s house or on various adventures. Lucy had them taking a joy ride before Nana caught them. Don’t give them any ideas, Lucy. LOL. Amy had them going somewhere warm and sunny and that would have been good this weekend. We had sunny but we sure didn’t have warm. And of course, Marji and Ruby knew kids and that they would be saying it was their turn to drive.

You all had some great ideas and gave your imaginations a workout. Now it’s time to do it again with the picture up top. Remember each time you suggest a caption for a new picture, you get another entry in the drawing to have a chance to win your choice of one of my books. You do have to be at least eighteen years old to enter, but you can let your kids help decide on the best caption. Deadline to enter is March 26, 2022 at midnight EST. I’ll pick three winners.
